Valentine Movie Night a Prelude to Upcoming Fair

Valentine Elementary School students, family members and friends recently gathered for a movie night experience under the stars in anticipation of Valentine’s upcoming Fall Fair, “Valentine & The Chocolate Factory.”  The sold out movie event took place at Centennial Field at Stoneman School.

“This year’s fair theme is inspired by the original 1971 film “Willy Wonka and the Chocolate Factory,” explained Pre-Fair Kick-off Outdoor Movie Night event planner and Valentine parent Andrea Telleria-Ruiz.  “Once planning was under way for the October fair event, Zarana and Nancy (the Fall Fair chairs) realized that not everyone had seen the movie.  They wanted to create a fun event where families could watch the movie together.”

Although the Fall Fair is an annual event, movie night was something new and different this year. Andrea and her husband, Epi, have been hosting neighborhood movie nights for years and couldn’t resist the opportunity when the idea was presented to them.

Not being able to predict ticket sales for this limited seating event,  Andrea commented, “We know first hand how busy it gets with back-to-school events and extracurricular activities. Initially, we were concerned that we wouldn’t be able to sell 150 tickets.  So, we are surprised and delighted that our event SOLD OUT!”

Popcorn, drinks, and “scrumdiddlyumptious” treats were served or all to enjoy during their outdoor viewing experience.

Movie night was one of several different events held in conjunction with the school’s Fall Fair “Valentine & The Chocolate Factory” which is set for Saturday, October 4th from 10 am – 3 pm on the school’s campus.  For more information about the fair, please visit valentine.schoolauction.net/fallfair2014.
