Bike Safety Day

Many third grade Valentine students participated in Bike Safety Day on campus recently during their physical education period.  These students had the opportunity to take a riding safety test and to have their bicycles licensed by the city.  Members from both the San Marino Fire Department and San Marino Police Department were on-site to help with the event.

“The day went really well. The firemen and policemen were great to work with and the kids had a lot of fun,” said Valentine Bike Safety Chair, Krishna Rao. “Students learned how to navigate an obstacle course with cones which may help them stay safer on the road.  They also enjoyed checking their cycling speeds with the special radar detector.”

Students received certificates of completion along with their new licenses.  Those who could not attend are encouraged to get their bicycles licensed through city hall.
