Man Jailed for San Marino Fire

SAN MARINO (CNS) – A man arrested on suspicion of setting a San Marino home on fire was jailed in lieu of $2 million bail, police said.

Thomas Driscoll, 56, of San Gabriel was arrested in the alleged arson in the 2300 block of Adair Street, which took place about 7:15 p.m. Saturday, according to San Marino police Lt. Les Rune and a desk officer.

No one was at home at the time of the fire, and no one was injured, according to police.

Driscoll was arrested about 12:50 p.m. Sunday by San Marino police, Rune said.

The victim, whose name police withheld, told detectives he received threats from Driscoll before the fire, Rune said. Driscoll was booked on suspicion of arson, making criminal threats, violating a restraining order and vandalism.

He was being held in Los Angeles County jail and scheduled to be arraigned in Alhambra today.

Anyone with more information about the fire was asked to call Rune at (626) 300-0720.
