Old Pasadena hosts fun, family-friendly festivities on Holly Street with the Old Pasadena Holiday Celebration (www.oldpasadena.org/holiday) on Friday, November 28, from 4:00 to 8:00pm. Come frolic in the snow, snap photos with Santa and Mrs. Claus, sing along to live holiday music, and create something special in the kids craft village at this free annual community event.

At 4:00pm, Holly Street (between Raymond and Fair Oak Avenues) will be transformed into a winter playground where families can romp in 20 tons of sparkling snow. Visit with Santa and Mrs. Claus, and capture the moment on your camera. Get creative in the kids’ craft village with hands-on activities offered by the Armory Center for the Arts and Kidspace Museum, Japanese ink painting by Nori Shirasu, make-your-own holiday cards with Lula Mae Gifts, and paint ceramic ornaments with Color Me Mine.

Throughout the celebration, enjoy live musical entertainment on the main stage as various artists offer their interpretations of traditional holiday carols.  From country crooner Celeigh Chapman, a seasonal mash-up with DJ Glenn Red, and sing-a-longs with the students from the Burbank Music Academy, to the big sound of the Pasadena Symphony Brass Quintet as part of the Random Acts of Music, and the Santa Baby Holiday Show presented by the bubbly Beverly Belles, the spirit of the season will be in the air.

From 6:00-8:00pm, One Colorado’s Holiday Kick-Off Party gets underway in the courtyard at 41 Hugus Alley with music by local troubadours Leftover Cuties, cookies and hot cocoa, and photo booth fun with Santa making an appearance.  The One Colorado Charles Cherniss Tournament of Toys collection drive is collecting unwrapped toys again this season. The Pasadena Jaycees’s Operation Santa will distribute the gifts to disadvantaged children in the Pasadena area on Christmas Eve.  For more details, visit http://www.onecolorado.com.

From November 28 through December 24, Santa’s Mailbox is stationed in One Colorado’s courtyard. Write your letter to Santa, and drop it in his mailbox to receive a personal reply. Be sure to include your return address so Santa can respond.
