Lisa Link, Chris Norgaard Will Defend Board Seats In November

By Mitch Lehman

Current San Marino School Board President Lisa Link and three-term Board Member Chris Norgaard told The Tribune this week that they will defend their seats at the Tuesday, November 3 election. The seats of Mrs. Link and Mr. Norgaard are the only two that will be contested this year as Nam Jack, Joseph Chang and Shelley Ryan have two years remaining on their current terms.

“I am excited to announce that I will seek reelection to the board of education for a second term because I want to continue to have a positive influence on the direction of the San Marino Unified School District,” said Link, whose mother was a school board member in Palos Verdes. “During the past four years, the board has worked well together to ensure that the district is financially and educationally sound. In the past year, with the vision and hard work of Dr. Cherniss and the District team of administrators, teachers, and staff, and thanks to the support of community donors and volunteers, we have seen many positive changes throughout the district, including enhanced curriculum, professional development, and improved communications and technology, to name a few.
