San Marino Unified School District’s governing board unanimously green lighted Superintendent Alex Cherniss on Tuesday evening to begin formal negotiations with the city for the district’s possible purchase of the San Marino Center where they hope to build the first gymnasium in the history of Huntington Middle School.
“I feel this is a matter of priority for both the school district as well as the community,” said Cherniss after the vote. “A gym would be a tremendous benefit. I am hopeful we can work together and build something we can all be proud of.”
