Two distinct – and distinctly different – images await those entering the office of Pepperdine University International Relations Professor and former San Marino resident Dan Caldwell: a photo of Caldwell engaged in a friendly handshake with former President of the Soviet Union Mikhail Gorbacev and a stunning view of the Malibu coastline and Pacific Ocean that takes up the wall-sized western window.
“Pretty much sells the place all by itself,” Caldwell quips when asked if what night be the best office view in all of higher education is the first item shown to prospective faculty members.
