Hundreds of friends and family members recently gathered on the playground of Valentine Elementary School for its annual May Day celebration and Heart of Gold awards ceremony. Guests enjoyed student performances ranging from the traditional fifth grade girls’ May Pole Dance, the fifth grade boys’ Sword Dance, a selection of Latin-inspired dances performed by first through fourth grades, and the popular kindergarten Chicken Dance.
The event was choreographed and coordinated by physical education teachers Laura Pollard and Wes Gonzales.
