Former San Marino Mayor Dr. Matthew Lin Provides Aid in Earthquake-Ravaged Tibet

I should have noticed the first clue, when former San Marino Mayor Dr. Matthew Lin returned my email at three o’clock in the morning. The second, when he arrived to The Tribune offices at my invitation just six hours later, clutching two bottles of tea and looking more like a man in need of a nap than one who would be asked to answer questions, was too obvious not to pick up.

Lin had just returned home from a 10-day visit to earthquake-ravaged Tibet, where he had participated in another round-the-clock disaster relief effort, performing upwards of 50 surgeries on victims of the 7.8 temblor on April 25 that claimed more than 8,000 lives while injuring countless more in the four affected nations.
