Dr. Susan Kim, the new director at Reading Town, hosted a small seminar on Friday, May 8 to parents who wanted to learn more about Common Core.
“It’s a crazy society and we need to prepare (our children) for it,” Kim said.
Common Core is a somewhat controversial new method of teaching and testing meant to prepare children “for a brighter future.” It teaches kids to live in a different way through communication, collaboration, critical thinking and creativity, she said.
