Stormwater runoff throughout the city of San Marino will now be reused as it is directed on to properties that are being developed upon.
San Marino City Council approved an ordinance amending the the San Marino Municipal Code to include low impact development requirements, and a resolution adopting the city’s green policy for stormwater management compliance. Both of which are newly mandated National Pollutant Discharge Elimination System Permit requirements.
Ron Serven, environmental services manager, said aside from being in compliance with the new permit, general benefits include not wasting water.
