With the budget in front of the San Marino City Council, a red flag was raised for the massive overtime accrued for the police and fire departments.
The departments, along with every other department throughout the city, gave brief presentations to the city council on Friday, May 29, breaking down their budgets. City Councilman Dennis Kneier questioned Police Chief John Incontro and Mark Phillips, interim fire chief at the time, on why overtime was so high and what they are doing to control it.
