More than 100 notices have already gone out to San Marino residents who are not in compliance with the city’s new water conservation measures, which began on June 10.
Because of the California drought, the State Water Resource Control Board mandated a 25 percent statewide reduction in water use by February 2016. California American Water calculated their coverage area, which includes San Marino, has a required reduction of 28 percent.
“I encourage you to think differently about water,” said San Marino Environmental Services Manager Ron Serven during the Mayor’s Community Meeting on June 25.
