By Krista Daly

Stoneman School could be getting an upgrade.

As part of the city of San Marino’s efforts to renovate the site, Stoneman may be brought up to current ADA and accessibility standards. San Marino City Council voted on Wednesday, July 8, to amend the current professional agreement with Crane Architectural Group for an ADA assessment for $4,900.

San Marino City Manager John Schaefer explained that Stoneman was identified as a historical landmark years ago, and as such, it’s possible the city could receive breaks in its compliance with ADA requirements. The historical exemptions could save the city approximately $1.06 million in costs.
