More than a dozen plein air artists spent last week documenting the natural beauty of the Arroyo Seco and its surroundings.
Their works will be on display and for sale at the Plein Air Paintings of the Arroyo Seco Art Exhibition and Sale on Sunday, Aug. 2 from 11 a.m.–4 p.m. at the La Casita del Arroyo, 177 S. Arroyo Ave., in Pasadena.
The California Art Club and La Casita Foundation will host the event.
“The California Art Club is delighted to have this opportunity to paint at La Casita, as the environs of the Arroyo Seco continue to be a favorite painting site for many of our organization’s artists,” said artist Peter Adams, who served as the club’s president since 1993. “It is also appropriate that we are documenting in paintings how beautiful and resilient water-wise gardens can be as Californians continue to live with severe drought conditions.”
“We’ve had such wonderful paint-outs here,” said Martyn Belmont, La Casita Foundation board member and past president.
