Road Rage Cited for Recent Incidents of Violence

Road rage has been the reason for recent violence both locally in San Marino and nationally in cities such as Beverly Hills, Fla.

According to San Marino police reports, Justin Cole, 35, of Pasadena struck a victim’s vehicle and then the victim with a baseball bat on July 17 at Huntington Drive and Los Robles Avenue. Cole allegedly followed, tailgated and sideswiped the victim’s vehicle prior to that. He was charged with assault with a deadly weapon and failing to stop following a traffic collision.

The July 23 fatal shooting of Candeleria Gonzalez, 44, of Beverly Hills, Fla. is being blamed on road rage. Robert Doyle, 51, of Beverly Hills is charged with second-degree murder and three counts of aggravated assault. After an aggressive driving incident in which both parties were on the phone with 911, Gonzalez reportedly followed Doyle home and parked in front of his house. Doyle allegedly got out of his vehicle with a gun and fired numerous shots at Gonzalez and then pointed his gun at Gonzalez’s family until sheriff’s deputies arrived.
