Chinese Club of San Marino Building Plans Detailed

By Stacy Lee

The proposed new Chinese Club of San Marino building is intended for the entire community, not just the Chinese Club.

San Marino Chinese Club Building Project Chair Dr. Hai-Sou Chen and TAMSTUDIO architectural firm principals Anthony Tam and Chung Chan spoke about the project’s plans on Thursday, Aug. 6 at the Rotary of San Marino luncheon.

Chen said many San Marino residents are curious about the new building because the city of San Marino doesn’t have a modern community center.

“We’re thrilled to be able to come up with this design,” Tam said. “We’re also really excited about what the design and this project could be for the city of San Marino.”

The new two-story structure to be built at 2425 Huntington Drive is projected to be 10,000 square feet.

It will contain classrooms, offices, a multipurpose room, an open-roof deck and an underground parking facility with 25 spaces.

“We’ve completed the design drawings and we’re about to start the construction drawings,” Tam said.
