Though there were rumors of at least one more entry, the application deadline passed on Monday, Aug. 11 with five candidates having returned their papers for entry into the Tuesday, Nov. 3 San Marino City Council election.

Incumbents Dennis Kneier and Eugene Sun will be joined on the ballot by Dr. Steven Huang, Scott Kwong and Steve Talt for the two available seats.

On the other side of the docket, incumbents Lisa Link and Chris Norgaard went unchallenged for their two seats on the San Marino School Board, nullifying an election. Though whispers of a possible challenger existed several months ago, nobody stepped forward.
