San Marino Rotary Awards Norberg

By Stacy Lee

“When he mentioned my name, I just couldn’t hold back the tears,” Lucille Norberg said about being the second ever recipient of the William Steele Memorial Award from the Rotary Club of San Marino.

San Marino Rotarian and award creator Peter Corzo and current Rotary President Mike Driebe presented Norberg with the honor on Oct. 1 at the club’s weekly luncheon.“There are so many things that you do to make this club what it is,” Corzo said.

“I’m absolutely speechless,” said Norberg, who is a San Marino Rotary Director and Social Chair. “I love the Rotary and I love what I do for the Rotary. It makes me want to do more.”

Driebe said the award to Norberg was well deserved.

“The Rotary is my family,” Norberg said.

“The Bill Steele Service Award was created to honor the memory of Bill Steele, who was pretty much a San Marino Rotary legend,” Corzo said. “He was a man with purpose, a man who made a difference and a man who lived, and lived well. Bill’s legend is pretty much what inspired me to want to create this award.”
