Cell Towers Still Have Nowhere to Move

Patience is wearing thin for the city of San Marino as they struggle to find a solution for the relocation of the cell towers currently on San Marino Unified School District property.

Planning and Building Director Aldo Cervantes recently contacted All American Tower for another update on their progress. All American Tower is in the process of conducting a new RF (radio frequency) site survey, which assesses how to provide adequate coverage in a particular location, he said.

In this case, city hall.

The hope is to replace the two towers with one, yet keep the same coverage, he said.

Councilmember Dennis Kneier asked for an update at the latest city council meeting on Wednesday, Oct. 14. With the amount of time spent discussing cell towers, Kneier asked why it took so long to “talk about something.”
