Chinese Club of San Marino Celebrates Holiday With Community Fundraiser

More than 600 people attended the Chinese Club of San Marino’s 2015 Mid-Autumn Festival celebration on Sunday, Nov. 15 at the San Gabriel Hilton.
The event, with a theme of “Love is in the Air,” included a cocktail hour, an eight-course Chinese meal, a live auction, silent auction, raffle and plenty of entertainment.
“Like Thanksgiving, the Mid-Autumn Festival is a time for families to gather, to share life over a sumptuous meal,” Mid-Autumn Festival Co-Chair Dr. Hai-Sou Chen said. “We’re all gathered here like a family to build a sense of community.”
Event Co-Chair Vanessa Koo estimated this year’s attendance number to be more than 630 people and said it surpassed turnout of the past several years.
“We had a lot of people come out at the last minute,” she said.
