Attempted Grand Theft Auto/Home Invasion Robbery in San Marino

suspect 2suspect 1On Dec. 29 at approximately 6:48 a.m., the San Marino Police received a 911 call regarding a PC 211/Robbery in progress in the 500 block of Huntington Drive. The victim reported seeing a male wearing a hood and mask, armed with a silver colored firearm in her living room. San Marino Police officers arrived on scene within two minutes, and with the assistance of South Pasadena Police, San Gabriel Police and the Los Angeles Sheriff’s helicopter, a perimeter was set up around the residence.

The female victim stated when she came out of her bedroom she was confronted by Suspect 1. She said she ran back and locked herself in her bedroom and called 911. The victim further informed officers there were other family members inside the house. Officers made entry into the house and safely removed all four family members from the residence and directed them to waiting officers at a safe location. Once the family was secured, officers continued their search of the suspects inside the residence, rear yard and surrounding properties but met with negative results.

Surveillance video from the victim’s residence shows the suspect vehicle, a white four door sedan (possible 2010-2013 Kia Forte) pulls in front of the house one east of the victim’s. Two suspects got out of the vehicle and approached the victim’s vehicle parked in the driveway.

Suspect 1 (white male, early 20’s, approximately 5’10” – 6′, thin build, wearing a dark gray and blue striped beanie, black and blue with white outlined plaid sweatshirt, khaki pants, black and white colored skater style shoes, possibly Vans) is seen opening up the driver door of the victim’s Mercedes and rummaging through items.

Suspect 2 (Male, unknown, 5’10” -6′, thin build, wearing a dark colored plaid long sleeve shirt, dark baseball cap, dark pants, dark shoes, NFD) walks up to the passenger side of the vehicle and in seen removing items from the victims vehicle and walking it back to his vehicle. Suspect 1 attempts to back the vehicle out of the driveway with a spare key located inside the vehicle and collides into another vehicle parked in the driveway. Suspect 1 is then seen walking up to the front door of the residence where he puts on a black and white skeleton bandana and enters the unlocked front door.

The victim confronts the suspect as he opens the front door from the top of the stairs. The victim ran to her bedroom, while Suspect 1 produced a silver handgun from his left pocket, walks over to a table, removes an unknown object and flees the house.

Suspect 2 is seen driving away in the suspect’s vehicle. Suspect 1 is seen running southbound across Huntington Drive in to the City of Alhambra and out of sight.
