More than 100 golfers, and dozens more who came to sample top notch shopping and fine dining, assembled at a private club in Pasadena last Monday with the goal of raising money for programs at San Marino High School first and foremost on the revelers minds.

A beautiful Spring day highlighted the well-manicured grounds and pristine patio accommodations as cheering and laughter competed for air time at the annual event that showcases some of the town’s top golfers.

Golf Classic Co-Chairs Janis Tanji Wong and Renee Olson put together an event that will be talked about as long as golfers like to brag about their victories – which is, by the way, “until the end of time.”

New to the tournament was a stylish boutique that was constructed on site and featured shopping opportunities for both golfers and those who came later in the day for dinner and a raucous live auction that raised a substantial amount of money on its own and netted three current juniors a reserved parking spot at SMHS!

On course, the competition was hot and heavy, with hoorays and groans accompanying the posting of each score. Thank goodness the scorekeeping was guided by San Marino High School’s Academic Honesty Policy…

Though everyone went home on Monday a winner – including San Marino High School’s student body – these were singled out for top performances.
