HMS Interact Club to Host Events for Humane Society

Huntington Middle School’s Rotary Interact Club is hosting a ‘Party for a Cause’ today from 3–5 p.m., with proceeds benefitting the San Gabriel Valley Humane Society.

Tickets are $20 at the door, which provides each participant with 20 tickets to exchange for merchandise and crafts. All proceeds benefit the San Gabriel Valley Humane Society.

The HMS Interact Club will then present its gift at the annual Shelter Shower on Tues., Dec. 13 in Room 303 at HMS during the lunch period.

Each year San Gabriel Valley Humane Society visits Huntington Middle School in December with a variety of cats and presents to students on the current status at the shelter, how to adopt a pet and what to do if you find a feral cat (Answer: leave it alone).

“Rather than just having a party to have a party, we’re the ‘Small, but Mighty’ club who believes that ‘None of us can do everything, but ALL of us can do something,’” said Denise Wadsworth, the school’s Speech and Language Pathologist who also heads up the Interact Club.
