Author Shares How to Motivate Kids to Love Reading

Award-winning teacher and author Donalyn Miller will share how to inspire and motivate children to read more and improve their reading ability, as well as develop a love for books and reading to last a lifetime. Her presentation will be on Tuesday, March 14 at Carver Elementary School at 9 a.m. and Huntington Middle School at 7 p.m.
Miller is an author of several books on engaging children with reading, including the Book Whisperer and Reading in the Wild. She is also the co-founder of the Nerdy Book Club blog and co-hosts the monthly Twitter chat #titletalk. Her articles about teaching and reading appear in publications such as Education Week Teacher, the Reading Teacher, Educational Leadership and the Washington Post. She serves as Scholastic Book Fairs’ Manager of Independent Reading and Outreach.
