Hobbie Gets Call for Titan Baseball Position

Mike Hobbie, who for the past 6 years has been head football coach at San Marino High School, will add the Titan varsity baseball gig to his duties, it was announced today.
Hobbie, who led San Marino to the CIF championship and State football title games in 2015, replaces Mach Paciorek, who resigned last month after 12 years with the program, the last 10 as head coach.
“I’m honored and excited to work with our baseball family in setting the course for the future of San Marino baseball,” said Hobbie. “I recognize that baseball in San Marino is a source of community support and I look forward to building a seamless connection between our youth programs and our high school baseball program.”
Hobbie has substantial baseball coaching experience, including a stint at Vero Beach High School. He was president, coach and all-star coach at a Pony League in Kentucky and has a youth football field named in his honor in Florida.
Hobbie coached his son, Matt, who was selected in the 6th round of the 1993 Major League Baseball draft by the Cleveland Indians. Matt Hobbie currently serves as as his father’s offensive coordinator for the Titan football team and is expected to join the baseball staff as well. Hobbie teaches physical education and health at San Marino High School. His wife, Suzanne, teaches science at the school.
