Hershiser to Appear at SMHS for Danny’s Farm Fundraiser

Former Major League Baseball great Orel Hershiser will be the special guest at the 2nd annual ‘Fall Classic for The Farm,’ a fundraiser that will be held at San Marino High School to benefit Danny’s Farm, a recreational facility catering to those with special needs named in honor of former SMHS student Danny Gott.
The event will take place on Saturday, Sept. 9 from 10:00 a.m. – 1:00 p.m. at McNamee Field. Hershiser will speak and answer questions about his years in the major leagues, sign autographs and be available for photos along with other players. Dodger Dogs will be served and the adorable farm animals from Danny’s Farm will also be in attendance.
Admission is $100 per adult and $50 per child 12 years old and under and includes a photo with Hershiser and one autograph on an item brought by attendees.
There will also be a clinic for young baseball players including a hitting station, fielding station, and a pitching station, each staffed by a former MLB player.
Proceeds will go to Danny’s Farm with a portion earmarked for San Marino High School.
Located at Cal Poly Pomona, Danny’s Farm is a farm setting which offers a safe, peaceful, and loving environment for children and adults with developmental disabilities. Visitors are able to interact with farm animals while receiving vocational training. For more information, please call (626) 632-0286 or email info@dannysfarm.org.
