City Club to Host Voter’s Forum on Tuesday

The San Marino City Club will hold a voter’s forum for the 2017 city council election on Tuesday, October 10. The forum will be held in San Marino High School’s Neher Auditorium and is scheduled to begin at 7:00 p.m.

Seven candidates – Susan Jakubowski, Calvin Lo, Dr. Hai-Sou Chen, Scott Kwong, Ken Ude, Gretchen Shepherd Romey and Eugene Sun – have filed papers to compete for three open seats on the San Marino City Council at the Tuesday, November 7 election.

Elections for council seats currently held by Council Members Steve Talt and Steven Huang are scheduled for November, 2019.

At the forum, audience members will be encouraged to submit questions that will possibly be asked of the candidates, who will also provide statements regarding their positions on local matters.

“The City Club sponsors a voter’s forum each year of a contested election in an effort to educate voters and allow them to get to know their candidates,” said City Club President David Wang. “The voter’s forum is in line with our club’s desire to create community awareness on important issues.”
