SMPD Arrests Two In November 6th Home Burglary Spree

Two suspects have been arrested for a burglary that took place at 10:30 p.m. on Tuesday, November 6 and police are investigating three others that occurred the same day in a rogue wave of crime that swept through San Marino.

It began shortly after 12:00 noon in the 2000 block of Canterbury Road, when suspects entered through a rear window of the residence. Once inside, the suspects ransacked the home looking for various items. The suspects left the residence through the same window they used to enter.

Four hours later, two suspects used force to enter a home in the 1600 block of Shenandoah Road through a rear French door.  A family member was at home during the attempted burglary and the suspects fled the scene when they were discovered.

At 10:30 p.m., a residential burglary occurred in the 1400 block of Chelsea Road. While officers were on scene investigating that incident, they received notification that a second burglary had just occurred in the 1400 block of Pasqualito Road. The victim in the Pasqualito crime was home and asleep at the time of the burglary. The resident was awakened by noise from suspects, who had made entered the home.

Just prior to receiving the burglary calls, officers had attempted to stop a vehicle for a traffic violation in the vicinity of Huntington Drive and Los Robles Blvd. The vehicle failed to yield and headed towards the 110 Freeway. The pursuit terminated on the 110 freeway when officers lost sight of the vehicle due to excessive speed. With the assistance of South Pasadena Police and the California Highway Patrol, the vehicle was later recovered and stolen property from the burglary was located inside the vehicle. A 15-year-old male juvenile was detained in connection with the crimes.

Further investigation by Detectives lead to the identification and arrest of a second suspect, Alejandro Aguiano, a 20-year-old resident of Los Angeles.
