Nancy Lee, Mayor Gretchen Shepherd Romey, Maggie Lee, Police Chief John Incontro, Judy Tsai, Luyi Khasi and Cindy Kuo took part in Saturday’s virtual Mid-Autumn Festival, hosted by the Chinese Club of San Marino.

The Chinese Club of San Marino’s annual Mid-Autumn Festival took place this past Saturday evening via Facebook and YouTube. Although the guests were not able to attend the event in traditional banquet style, it was a success as the online format brought an innovative and alternative way to engage the community and raise funds for San Marino schools and the district.
Guests drove by the group’s Huntington Drive clubhouse and picked up their gourmet meals before returning home and taking in the events online.
Several officials supported the Mid-Autumn Festival virtually or in person. Congresswoman Judy Chu, Assemblyman Ed Chau, and Director General Louis M. Huang of the Taipei Economic and Cultural Office in Los Angeles spoke highly on behalf of the event’s initiatives. San Marino Mayor Gretchen Shepherd Romey participated in the live auction and San Marino Police Chief John Incontro acted as an emcee.
Thanks to the effort of President Tony Chou and 2021 Chinese Club of San Marino president and current Mid-Autumn Festival chair Maggie Lee along with all the group’s directors and volunteers, the event raised more than $100,000 in donations. The funds will enable the Chinese Club of San Marino to continue its tradition of supporting the San Marino schools and the community as it has for the past 41 years.
