Police arrested a 27-year-old San Fernando man and 28-year-old Sylmar woman at 1:53 p.m. Sunday, Oct. 24, after being pulled over in a vehicle that was reported stolen. The man, who was the driver, was also booked for an arrest warrant and for allegedly possessing drug paraphernalia, while the woman was arrested on suspicion of possessing a checkbook and ID card that didn’t belong to her, as well as having arrow keys used to access gated building complexes.

A catalytic converter was reported stolen from a vehicle parked in the 1100 block of San Gabriel Boulevard sometime before 10:18 a.m. Sunday, Oct. 24.

A backpack blower was reported stolen from a gardening vehicle parked in the 2700 block of Devonport Road at around 12:45 p.m. Friday, Oct. 29. The thief’s vehicle was described as a white GMC or Chevrolet.

An unknown person reportedly tried to burglarize a vehicle parked near Virginia Road and Rosalind Road sometime before 11:49 a.m. Saturday, Oct. 30. The vehicle owner discovered pry marks on the key hole and that a door handle had fallen off.

Two trespassers reportedly scaled the front gate to a home in the 1700 block of Euston Road at about 7:25 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 28.

A purse was reported stolen from an unlocked car parked in the 2100 block of Homet Road at around 7:20 a.m. Friday, Oct. 29.

Graffiti and broken windowpanes were discovered on an alleyway wall in the 2100 block of Huntington Drive at 11:59 a.m. Saturday, Oct. 30.

The San Marino Police Department had 369 calls for service between Sunday, Oct. 24, and Saturday, Oct. 30. There were no residential burglaries reported and there have been 23 in total reported this year. Information was gathered from a department memorandum summarizing key incidents handled during this period.
