After the pandemic sidelined the team in 2020, Huntington Middle School’s varsity volleyball players and coaches were grateful to be back in the gym this fall.
“They are highly energetic, eager to learn and compete, and very well-rounded in terms of their game play and volleyball skills,” said head coach Jackson Wong. “What stood out the most was their enthusiasm and their positive attitudes. They also had great chemistry and comradery on the court.”
Those attributes led to an abbreviated, yet undefeated season with the Foxes finishing with a perfect 6-0 record.
“This was a fun squad, but they also worked hard,” Wong said. “It made coaching this team that much more rewarding to know that the players always showed up to practice ready to tackle whatever it [was I would throw] at them.”
