Police are investigating the death of a 24-year-old San Gabriel man, whose body was discovered in a San Marino neighborhood last Friday.
The man was identified as Tyler Perkins, said coroner’s Lt. David Smith. An autopsy was pending to determine the cause of his death.
Detectives were sent to the 1300 block of Virginia Road at about 5:50 a.m. Friday, according to the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department.
Sheriff’s homicide investigators were assisting San Marino police in the investigation.
“Preliminary investigation does not appear (to indicate) the victim sustained a gunshot or stab wound,” a sheriff’s statement said. “At this time, it is not being investigated as a homicide.”
