Yosemite Trip Wows SMHS Attendees

San Marino High School recently held its annual trip to Yosemite National Park, where 45 members of the junior and senior classes and five chaperones enjoyed a week-long adventure, spring-like weather and fellowship.
“Yosemite was such an amazing experience,” said senior Marcus Chua. “I made countless memories there that I’ll hold dearly for the rest of my life. It’s an incredible place to collect yourself and find peace in nature, and I felt that it was a much-needed change of scenery from the fast-paced lives we live back home.”
The Yosemite expedition, which was canceled last year due to the pandemic, began in the 1970s under the direction of former baseball coach and Athletic Director Mickey McNamee.
“It was an environment that brought us all together,” Chua said. “It could turn the most distant strangers into the closest friends. I can’t describe the trip as anything less than magical.”
