PTA Honors Its ‘Stars’ at Founders’ Day

The San Marino PTA Council’s 92nd annual Founder’s Day awards ceremony was held last week in the quad at San Marino High School. Co-chairs Nicolette Fuerst and Janet Segimoto led the community in honoring the district’s 15 recipients, who were selected from each school site as well as the council level.

This year’s theme, “Starry Night,” exemplifies the time, effort and dedication the volunteers have given to their schools and community.

Honorary Service Award recipients included Darbin Chan, Toby Chou and Becki Watlington for Carver Elementary School; Erin Clougherty, Danielle Dabbs and Daisy Wilson from Valentine Elementary School; Emily Burke, Luyi Khasi and Magnolia Yscasas at Huntington Middle School; Alexandra Brousseau, David Irie and Melissa Short at San Marino High School; and Lulu Lopez for the PTA Council.

Jose Caire, C. Joseph Chang and Christina Pink each received the Continuing Service Award from the PTA Council and Nam Jack was singled out for recognition of extraordinary service to the San Marino Unified School District.
