Full Speed Ahead for San Marino Swimmers

The San Marino High School girls’ and boys’ swim teams have returned to top form following the interruptions caused by the COVID-19 pandemic. The girls’ team is undefeated at 3-0, including Rio Hondo League wins over South Pasadena (111.5–58.5) and Monrovia (133-24).  

Meanwhile, the Titan boys also drydocked South Pasadena, winning their recent dual meet by a final score of 102-67 and are currently 3-1 overall.

Sophia Yao, Amber Paul and Sabrina Wang each collected individual victories against the Tigers in girls’ action and Ethan Chang, Daniel Li, Otis Tsai touched the wall first in the boys’ meet. Chang has won every individual event that he has entered this season, with first-place finishes in the 50 freestyle, 100 freestyle, 100 butterfly, 100 backstroke, 200 freestyle and 500 freestyle.  

The girls’ squad has been placed in CIF Division 1 while the boys will compete in Division 2.  

Both squads host Temple City on Tuesday, April 21, at 3:15 p.m. in the Rio Hondo League finale.
