Titans Sending 5 Boys to CIF State Meet

Don’t put those lane lines away quite yet. San Marino High School’s boys’ varsity swim team isn’t done.

The Titans are sending five athletes to the CIF State meet, which opens today at Clovis West High School in Clovis.

In individual events, senior Ethan Chang advanced in the 50-yard freestyle and while sophomore Daniel Li moved on in the 200-yard individual. The 200-yard freestyle relay team of Joseph Ng, Otis Tsai, Ethan Chang and Daniel Li also qualified as did the 200-yard medley relay team, comprised of Tsai, Li, Chang and Harrison Summers.

“It is nice to see the boys’ hard work pay off,” said SMHS boys’ head swim coach Casey Holcomb. “I have been impressed with their dedication and also the leadership that has been displayed by our seniors.”

The Titans finished the season with a 6-2 record in dual meets, including a 4-1 mark in the Rio Hondo League, good for second place.
