San Marino High School sent five swimmers to last week’s CIF State finals, and the Titan boys garnered a 22nd-place finish at the Olympic Swim Complex at Clovis West High School near Fresno.
SMHS sophomore Daniel Li won the state championship individual 100-yard breaststroke in a time of 53.79 and anchored the 200-yard freestyle relay, which finished 25th in the state with a time of 1:27.11 and included Li with seniors Ethan Chang, Joseph Ng and Otis Tsai.
The 200-yard medley relay team of Li, Harrison Summers, Chang and Tsai swam the event in 1:35.23, finishing in 19th place and missing a berth in the finals by .09.
