Rotary Bids ‘Au Revoir’ to J.P. Mainguy

The Rotary Club of San Marino said “adieu” to J.P. Mainguy, its 2021-22 president, on Thursday at the organization’s infamous “Demotion Party.”

A native of France, club members found many creative ways in which to send the popular Mainguy off to the next chapter of his life, which included performances by “Marie Antoinette,” “Coco Chanel,” “Napoleon” and a special performance from “Chief Inspector Clouseau.”

The atmosphere included all different sizes of the Eiffel Tower and a popular offering of beignets.

Mainguy will be replaced by Rob Feidler, who took the oath of office from Mike Driebe. Mainguy waited less than a day after his demotion to travel to his native land to kick off a well-deserved vacation amid his legion of grandchildren.
