Welcome to the new school year! I am excited to serve as Carver PTA President as we welcome our new principal, Stuart Caldwell. This year, I want to focus on engaging our families and new volunteers, so that the PTA can continue to support the experiences at Carver that enrich our children’s lives and build our community as Carver Pioneers.
My family started at Carver in 2012, when our oldest son entered kindergarten. We moved to San Marino from the Westside so that our children could attend public schools here, and we became a part of a dedicated school community that opened its arms to us. Each of my four children have attended Carver, from kindergarten through their 5th grade promotions. Our oldest son will be a sophomore at San Marino High School; our middle sons are rising 6th and 8th graders at Huntington Middle School; and our youngest son will be a Carver 4th grader.
Carver offers an unparalleled educational experience, and we rely on support from parents and community members to sustain the PTA programs, such as art, music, cultural events and our library, that make our school exceptional.
Funding for our many programs is possible because of generous donations of time, expertise and resources by Carver teachers, staff, parents and the San Marino community. There are big and small opportunities to participate, from home and at school, so I invite you to join the Carver PTA and get involved.
I look forward to building an even stronger Carver community together.

Mikah O’Mara is Carver PTA president for the 2022-23 school year.
