A Wheelie Good Time at Bike Rodeo

0450-COVER — A San Marino Police Department officer helps display bike safety knowledge and skills to the 3rd graders at Valentine Elementary School for their annual Bike Safety Rodeo last week. The students enjoyed spending time with the officers, who taught bike signaling and even used their radar to clock the students’ bike speeds.

Valentine Elementary School 3rd graders participated in the Annual Bike Safety Rodeo on Aug. 26.

The students spent a portion of the school day brushing up on their bike safety knowledge and skills. They listened to an informative safety talk presented by San Marino Police Department officers, practiced bike signaling and rode through an obstacle course set up by Valentine physical education teacher Wes Gonzales.

They even had their speed clocked with a radar by SMPD. It was a great morning for the students participating in this fun annual tradition.
