Adrian Huang scored 10 points for the San Marino High School boys’ basketball team but host Maranatha High used its superior size last Wednesday night to defeat the Titans, 70-40, in a CIF Division 3AA first-round playoff game at Maranatha in Pasadena.
Jayden Tse poured in nine points and Truman Koch added seven points and three rebounds for the Titans, who concluded the season with a 16-13 overall record. The postseason appearance marked the 12th consecutive season San Marino qualified for the playoffs despite the fact that the Titans were moved up two full divisions.
“I give these kids a lot of credit,” said SMHS head coach Mihail Papadopulos, “especially our seniors, who showed so much grit and determination all season. I am so proud of the way they fought all night. There is absolutely no quit in them.”
