Man Robs ATM User at Gunpoint

A woman withdrawing money from a Chase Bank ATM located at 2270 Huntington Drive was robbed at gunpoint on Feb. 14, the San Marino Police Department said in a statement.
While the woman was completing her transaction at 8:18 a.m. at the ATM just west of the entryway to the bank, a man approached her from behind. The suspect, who has not been identified, stood directly beside the victim while displaying a handgun and demanded the woman’s withdrawn money. In fear of her safety, the woman complied. She was not injured during this incident.
Afterward, the suspect fled on foot south along the east side of the bank to the rear parking lot, and then proceeded to walk south on Ridgeway Road and eastbound on Roanoke Road until he was out of sight.
The suspect was described as being a white or Hispanic man in his early 20s, about 5 feet, 8 inches tall, with a thin build. He was seen wearing a gray baseball cap with a black bill displaying “DR” on the front, a black mask, black and white sweatshirt, blue jeans and white shoes. There was no vehicle belonging to the suspect seen in the area.
This investigation is ongoing as of the Tribune’s press deadline. The SMPD encourages anyone with additional information to contact the department at (626) 300-0720. Information may also be provided as an anonymous tip at
