Huntington Middle School hosted a full evening of music during the Spring Band Concert on Wednesday, March 1.
Members of the SMUSD 5th Grade Band, a total of 57 students from Carver and Valentine Elementary, opened the show with selections from the “Essential Elements Book 1.”
The HMS Wind Ensemble followed with three numbers, including an arrangement from “Pirates of the Caribbean.”
To close the first half of the concert, the Band Honors Ensemble performed a more serious selection from Beethoven’s Symphony No. 7.
During the second half of the night, the HMS Spartan, Varsity and Jazz Bands each performed three varied selections, showcasing their growing talents.
HMS band teacher Katy Simpson worked with more than 100 students in all the HMS bands and conducted the HMS portion of the evening.
