SMHS Athletes Recognized With All-League Honors

The Rio Hondo League recently released its all-league awards for boys’ and girls’ basketball, boys’ and girls’ soccer, and girls’ water polo following the completion of the 2022-23 winter season.
San Marino High School athletes were recognized for their seasonlong accomplishments, hard work and outstanding contributions to their teams.
BOYS’ BASKETBALL
San Marino finished the season fourth in the Rio Hondo League standings with a 5-5 record (16-13 overall). Juniors Adrian Huang and Bobby Reyes received first and second-team honors, respectively, while senior Xavier Duong was an honorable mention.
GIRLS’ BASKETBALL
The Titans finished the campaign fourth in the Rio Hondo League standings with a 3-7 record (14-14 overall). Sophomore Kailey Woo received a second-team selection while senior Gianna Karkafi was honorable mention.
GIRLS’ SOCCER
SMHS finished fifth in the Rio Hondo League standings with a 2-6-2 record (6-7-2 overall).
Senior Alyson Garcia received an all-league second-team midfielder selection, freshman Makayla Tokuchi was named second-team forward, and senior Taline Nesnas and freshman Maleah Martinez each earned honorable mentions.
BOYS’ SOCCER
The Titans finished last in the Rio Hondo League standings with a 0-10 record (0-15 overall) as senior Lucas Emmons and sophomore Toby Pedroza each earned honorable mentions.
GIRLS’ WATER POLO
San Marino concluded the season fifth in the Rio Hondo League standings with a 2-8 record (2-15 overall). Freshman Danica Lee received a second-team selection while junior Sasha Redshaw earned an honorable mention.
