Chinese Club Donates $10,000 to SMHS Grad Night

The Chinese Club of San Marino recently presented a check for $10,000 to SMHS Grad Night chairs Kathryn Oliveros, Debi Cribbs and Alice Song Ullrich.
This year’s Grad Night funding is impacted by a smaller graduating class of 192 seniors. In comparison, the Class of 2022 had 260 graduating seniors. This donation will help the Class of 2023 enjoy the school’s longtime tradition of honoring its seniors.
“We are very happy that we can contribute to the amazing 68-year legacy of Grad Night with our sponsorship of the high school’s small gym,” said Alan Chen, Chinese Club of San Marino president. “Come see the amazing job they did with the small gym and the school grounds during the Light Up ceremony at 7 p.m. on Wednesday, May 24.”
This year’s theme is “Studio Ghibli,” the animation powerhouse behind classic animation films such as “Howl” and “Spirited Away.”
Volunteers are needed to set up, help at Grad Night and to tear it down the morning after. All volunteer information can be found on the website: smhsgradnight.com.
