Principal Whitney McAlpine warmly welcomed friends and family to the Valentine Elementary School 5th Grade Recognition Ceremony on May 25 in the Huntington Middle School auditorium.
During the ceremony, 30 students were recognized for special achievement in 5th grade reading, and multiple students were recognized in the area of physical education, including Kate Rome and William Sun for the Fastest Mile, Bella Lee and Benjamin Ly for Muscular Endurance, Joseph Ruiz and Millie Webb earned the Coaches Award, and 73 students were acknowledged with the Health Fitness Award.
Before handing out the graduation certificates, McAlpine announced the recipients of the JP Blecksmith Award to Maddie Rome and Andrew Flores, with congratulations to the Class of 2023, the morning concluded with the singing of the Valentine School Song.
