Barbara Seubert Michel passed away peacefully on February 18, 2023, in Pasadena, California.
Barbara was born on November 9, 1936, to Arthur and Elsie Seubert in Alhambra Hospital in Alhambra, California. Barbara was raised in South Pasadena, California, and graduated from South Pasadena/San Marino High School.
She married the love of her life, John Eric Michel, in 1956 and made their home in San Marino, California, where they had two children.
Barbara was very active in her community with the Woman’s Club of South Pasadena, then the Assistance League of Pasadena, where she was elected president. Barbara also belonged to several bridge groups (both ladies and couples) over the years.
Barbara loved to shop and find bargains. After her children left the house, Barbara and a partner started their own business, “Treasure Transfers,” where they would do estate liquidations in the San Gabriel Valley. Barbara lived within a 5-mile radius her entire life.
Barbara is survived by her husband of 67 years, John Eric Michel; her two children, daughter Carla (Shane) Harvey, her son John Eric (Christine) Michel II, along with five grandchildren Garrick (Britney) Harvey; Matthew Harvey; John (Yasmin) Michel III; Robert (Allison) Michel; Elizabeth (Edwin) Mazariegos. In addition to grandchildren, Barbara had six great-grandchildren: Kenadie Harvey, Avery Harvey, Annabelle Michel, Emma Mazariegos, Addison Michel and John Michel IV.
