Camilla Marie (McCoy) Shires

Camilla Marie (McCoy) Shires from South Pasadena passed away peacefully in her sleep on 12/8/2022.
Camilla was born in Los Angeles in 1939 and grew up with her two sisters, mom and dad.
She met her future husband while playing tennis. Camilla and Richard had two daughters and settled in South Pasadena. She enjoyed volunteering with the SPUSD school district (MGM program), being a brownie and girl scout leader, coaching softball teams with both girls, and hanging out at Straw Hat eating pizza and brownies. She knew most of the kids in town by first and last name and always had a compliment and a big smile when she saw them.
She spent many years working at the LAAC with her older sister and loved working with the annual John Wooden Award, secretarial work at Alderman, Swift and Lewis, and teaching aerobics at the South Pasadena YMCA. In later years, Camilla enjoyed gardening, spending time with her grandchildren, and talking with neighbors.
If you ever met Camilla, you probably know her life story. She was a talker and would be instant friends with everyone she came into contact with. Camilla, Mrs. Shires, Grandma, Grandma Moose, Mom, we love you dearly and will miss you every single day.
Camilla was preceded in death by her mother, father, husband, and older sister. Camilla is survived by her younger sister, daughters, Diane (Chris) and Nancy (Mark), grandchildren, Jordan, Max, Jacob, and Noel.
