Michael Sean Fisher

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of a loving brother, father, and husband, Michael Sean Fisher, on April 7, 2023.
Born in Brunswick, Maine, on August 14, 1962, and raised in Lincoln, Nebraska, Michael grew up with a passion for learning and exploring the world. Although he spent much of his childhood in Nebraska, he liked to joke that he was proud of his heritage as a “Maine-iac”.
Michael graduated from Lincoln East High School in 1978 and earned his bachelor’s degree in East Asian History from Harvard College in 1984. He always enjoyed traveling to new places to experience new cultures and learn new languages. After graduating from Harvard, he traveled to Taiwan where he taught English at a college while also becoming fluent in Mandarin Chinese. There, he met his wife Nancy in 1984, and they were married in 1989.
Michael was a hardworking, entrepreneurial man. He was a successful businessman, acquiring Solutions International over 22 years ago with his business partner. He was successful in his career and lived by example in all aspects of his life, illustrating what it means to be a diligent and self-reliant person. He enjoyed building things from scratch, like a raised garden bed in his backyard, and had a passion for cooking with things grown in his own vegetable and herb gardens. He was well-known for making gourmet meals that delighted family and friends. He also loved to read, often delving into history books, and was always eager to learn more about the world around him.
Michael could always be counted on to lend a hand, an ear, or a shoulder to cry on. He will be remembered for his unwavering love for his family and will be deeply missed by his brothers Jon (Gretchen) and Matt, his children Ian, Emily, and Sean, and the love of his life, Nancy (née Jau) whom he loved more than words can express.
His loss is deeply felt, and Michael will forever be remembered for the love and joy he brought into the lives of those who knew him. He leaves behind a legacy of curiosity, compassion, and unwavering devotion to his family and to all those who loved him.
Rest in peace, dear Michael. You will be forever missed and always remembered.
